“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
It’s not a path I would ever have chosen.
Physically…I looked fine.
Spiritually…I thought I was fine.
Emotionally…not even close.
I wasn’t strong and I certainly wasn’t courageous.
You see, a series of life events stole those things from me and replaced them with fear.
I was living life in the fear lane.
Actually, I wasn’t really living. It was more like existing. And, I stayed in that fear lane far too long. Finally, I let go and let God. It didn’t happen overnight. And some days it’s still a struggle not to go back there.
Know what I mean?
I thought so.
Let me pray with you.
Father God, thank You for loving us, just the way we are. Please give us the strength and courage to trust you in all things, especially the things that scare us in this life, things like ___________. Help us to live each day fearlessly courageous in You. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
