The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5b (NIV)
It was like looking in a mirror.
I watched intently as she tried to smile, tried to carry a conversation, tried to be…
But sorrow wouldn’t let her.
You see, her Dad passed away a few weeks ago and she was hurting.
And through her pain, she admitted “I feel like I’m in a fog.”
Sorrow does that to a person.
I told her that I’m familiar with that fog.
And I also told her that it lifts.
And joy will return.
Dear one, has sorrow appeared in your world without an invitation?
Maybe it’s from a broken heart, a broken spirit, or a broken life.
And maybe, just maybe, you think you’ll never see a happy road again through that thick dark fog.
We have a Heavenly Father who cares about every aspect of our lives.
Even the sorrow.
Especially the sorrow.
He is near, even when we don’t feel Him.
He has a plan, even when we can’t see it.
And He loves us more than we can ever imagine.
Lean into that Love, friend.
And in His perfect timing, the fog will lift.
Sorrow will flee.
And morning will shine again.
Spread your joy,
