“with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:12 (NIV)
Maybe it’s because I’m an only child.
I have always strived to be the best.
In school, anything less than an A wasn’t good enough.
After college, I climbed the corporate ladder in a world of guy VP’s and held my own.
I even had my own business for awhile.
Ah yes, things were going great!
I thought I was invincible.
But what was I…really?
You see, most of my life, I had allowed people to know me to a point that was determined by me, myself, and I.
I put up my arm and held them there.
At arm’s length.
If a conversation got too personal, I could turn it back to you.
In a heartbeat.
Know what I mean?
But there’s so much more to my story.
And, God spoke to my heart a few years ago.
He wanted me to write for Him.
To share my story.
To encourage another soul.
Of course, I was all in…until I actually realized what He meant.
Sharing the good…and the not so good…about me, myself, and I.
And, by doing so, show His grace and love in the midst of it.
After much prayer, I knew what I had to do.
I had to turn my arm from facing you to facing me.
Then raise up my other arm and face it the same way…
To be embraced by a Father who loves me just the way I am.
Just the way you are.
Dear ones, we all have a story to tell.
Don’t rob yourself of the blessing
By believing the lie that you aren’t enough.
Instead of keeping others at arm’s length,
Wrap your arms around them.
And know that our Heavenly Father will have His everlasting arms around all of us.
His love endures…FOREVER.
Spread your joy,
