“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” Matthew 6:25-26, 30 (NKJV)
I am a worrier. A big giant worrier. “What if’s” have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
And as a lifelong worrier, I not only worry about my stuff, I worry about your stuff too.
Oh, I have the “do not worry” verses memorized, underlined, highlighted and circled in my Bible. And, I have nailed worry to the Cross more times than I could ever count. Then, tomorrow comes and you know what happens?
You got that right.
So on this first day of a brand new year, my desire for 2015 is to throw the worry monster under the bus…and replace it with trust, trust, and more trust.
Well…at least I’m going to try.
God, please give me the FAITH to try.
How about you? What do you need to nail to the Cross this year? What do you need to nail to the Cross right now?
I’ll bring my hammer and meet you there.
Spread your joy,
